In September 2015, more than 150 Heads of State and Government approved the 2030 Agenda at the UN Sustainable Development Summit. This Agenda includes 17 universal objectives that, starting on January 1st, 2016, have directed the efforts of the signatory countries to build a more sustainable world by 2030.The 2030 Agenda is the most ambitious action plan developed to date in favor of people, the planet, and prosperity, with 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets. Making these goals a reality requires the support of society as a whole: not just governments but also civil society and, for the first time in history, companies, too. In fact, the private sector plays a fundamental role in applying the 2030 Agenda and achieving the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).At Repsol, we work within the UN Global Compact as a member of the Spanish Global Compact Network Executive Committee, taking on the challenge of driving the 2030 Agenda within the private sector.
